Aquarium Fish Germicidal
Sterilizer Submersible UV Lamp
lamps are commonly used equipment in Fish Tanks, which can quickly kill pathogenic
bacteria in a short time and improve water quality.
When to use
1. Fish Tank explosion bacteria generally;
the fish tank explosion bacteria show that the water body changes from clear to
turbid in a short time. After the fish tank water explodes bacteria, you can
use a germicidal lamp to inhibit the growth of bacteria or kill bacteria. In
this case, you can change part of the water, turn on the germicidal lamp for 2
hours, and add nitrifying bacteria after turning off the lamp.
are many reasons for the explosion of bacteria in the fish tank. For example,
too many fish, too much organic matter produced by feeding and excretion of the
fish lead to the proliferation of foreign bacteria, or a large amount of
cleaning of the filter material at one time can lead to the explosion of
bacteria in the fish tank.
2. Green water
water is mainly caused by too much chlorella in the water body. Chlorella will
multiply in Aquariums exposed to direct sunlight, and its reproduction speed is
very fast. In fact, green water is not harmful to ornamental fish, but it will
greatly affect viewing and appearance. Therefore, many aquarists will try their
best to eliminate chlorella after discovering that the fish tank is green. In
this case, the effect of using a germicidal lamp is the best. The germicidal
lamp can not only inhibit the reproduction of chlorella, but also kill it,
especially at night. Chlorella is particularly active during the day, but at
night its various functions When there is a trough, using a germicidal lamp at
this time will have a multiplier effect. Use it every night for a few days, and
the green water condition will be significantly improved.
Precautions for the
use of germicidal lamps
The germicidal lamp cannot be placed directly in the fish tank, nor can it be
placed with the filter equipment. As it will harm the fish and also kill the
nitrifying bacteria in the fish tank. The germicidal lamp is best placed at the
water outlet of the fish tank, that is, the water passes through the germicidal
lamp before filtering, and then the filter equipment. Our most common one is
placed next to the water pump of the bottom filter fish tank, which also has a
certain effect. If possible, the germicidal lamp should be equipped with a
low-power water pump. Try to let the water in the fish tank pass through the
germicidal lamp, so that it can most effectively play its role in sterilization
and algae removal.
The germicidal lamp does not need to be on 24 hours a day, just use it for
about two hours a day. Leaving it on for a long time will have a certain impact
on the beneficial bacteria in the aquarium, and will also shorten its lifespan.
The germicidal lamp mainly relies on ultraviolet rays to play a sterilization
effect, and ultraviolet rays are also harmful to the human body, so when using
the germicidal lamp, be careful not to directly irradiate the human skin,
especially the eyes.
If medicine is being put in the fish tank to cure fish diseases, please turn
off the germicidal lamp. This is to avoid adverse reactions caused by
ultraviolet rays and medicines.
